The Grandmaster of Enshin Itto Ryu Battojutsu is Machida Kenshinsai – Sendai Soke. He is now retired from teaching new students. The current Grandmaster and the son of Machida Kenshinsai is Machita Fudoshin – Soke who is teaching at the Enbukan Headquarters in Noda, Japan.
The highest ranking student of Machida Kenshinsai – Soke and the director of the International Enshin Itto Ryu Battojutsu Association – IEIRBA is Julio Toribio – Daijo Shihan, Menkyo Kaiden Okuden, 10th Dan.
The IEIRBA is headquartered at the Seibukan Dojo in Nagoya, Japan and under the leadership of our Director, Julio Toribio – Daijo Shihan 10th Dan, Menkyo Kaiden Okuden.
Enshin Itto Ryu Battojutsu is a martial art that consists of three basic practical skills:
1) Kata, set of solo pre-arranged movements using an Iaito (practice sword)
2) Kumitachi, practical application against an attacker using a bokken with a Saya (wooden sword)
3)Tameshigiri, a target cutting with a Shinken (a real sword) to polish the cutting skills and develop the mental focus.
